One of the most celebrated musicals of all time closes out the 55th season for Theatre in the Grove’.  This is the special School Edition production featuring the next generation of performers.

Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Misérables: School Edition tells a powerful story of hope, redemption, sacrifice, and the enduring strength of the human spirit. Set in 19th-century France, the musical follows Jean Valjean, a former prisoner seeking a new life after years of hardship. As he struggles to leave his past behind, he becomes entwined with a cast of unforgettable characters whose lives intersect during a time of social unrest and political change.

Featuring one of the most beloved scores in musical theatre history, Les Misérables includes songs such as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Castle on a Cloud,” “Bring Him Home,” and “Do You Hear the People Sing?” The School Edition preserves the emotional power and scope of the original Broadway production while making the show accessible for younger performers and audiences.

At its heart, Les Misérables is a story about compassion, courage, and the choices we make when faced with injustice. Through its memorable characters and sweeping music, the musical continues to inspire audiences around the world more than forty years after its debut.

Performed by a talented cast of young actors, this production showcases the dedication, artistry, and passion of Theatre in the Grove’s youth performers while introducing a new generation to one of musical theatre’s greatest achievements.

Join us for an unforgettable theatrical experience that reminds us that hope can endure even in the most difficult times.
