ADAM BARRETT (Roger Strong) [he/him] is a Theatre in the Grove veteran whose first show at TITG was in 1998.

“TITG was a big part of my life growing up. One of the last shows I did here before leaving for college was The Mikado (2006). It was during this show that I met and started dating my wife Alicia [Alicia is the resident music director at TITG]. Now, almost 30 years later, I’ve been able to do multiple shows with Alicia and both of my kids. TITG has been intertwined with so many stages of my life and it always feels great to work with the amazing community here.”

But the family adventure doesn’t stop there. “Now that my kids are a little older I’ve been able to get back on stage. My first show back was Assassins in 2023 where I got to be on stage with my daughter Avery for the first time, and I got to do the show with Alicia as well (as the music director). Avery and Alicia have been in more shows than I have recently, but this past Christmas we all were in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. My son Simon isn’t quite ready to be on stage, but he was at all of the rehearsals and probably could have performed the show himself because he knew it so well. He’s really been involved with set construction for ‘Catch Me If You Can’, painting several of the walls. I wouldn’t be surprised if all four of us are in a show together in a few years.”

The hardest part of playing Roger Strong for Adam has been “trying to figure out how to do a Louisiana accent.” And if he could sneak into any occupation he would sneak into, “Transportation, particularly trains and planes, has been something I’ve always been interested in.”
