CAST Summer Camps 2026!
Theater in the Grove is thrilled to provide a theatre camp for youth during the summer months along with a full production open to the public. In 2026, we will produce “Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun”.
Auditions for CAST Camp will be April 25 & 26, 2026.
CAST Performance Camp 2026
Camp dates: July 20 – 31, 2026 9AM – 4PM
(weekdays only)
Performances July 31 – Aug 2 and Aug 7-9
Designed for young thespians, both trained and untrained, our CAST Summer Performance Camp is for youth who have finished 5th grade through those that just graduated high school.
Audition Dates for Admission to Camp: April 25-26, 2026
To be admitted to the CAST Performance Camp, all campers must audition. These auditions occur on April 25 & 26. Check here for details about how to prepare for an audition.
Audition Dates for Specific Roles
After students are admitted to the camp, they will need to do a second set of auditions for specific roles in June. After casting, they will receive their materials so they have time to begin learning their part. Once students audition for their role no refunds for the camp will be given.
Costs
The two week camp costs $400 per student. Full and partial scholarships are available in limited quantities.
CAST Tech Camp 2026
Camp dates: July 13 – 17, 2026 9AM to 4PM
In this technical theatre camp students, will focus on the construction of the set and other technical aspects preparing for our August production. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to use power tools, painting skills, and other tech skills to produce shows.
13 yo-18 yo (limited to recent high school graduates): 20 spots available
Students participating in the tech camp will have the opportunity to sign up to be on the tech crew for our August production at no additional cost.
Costs
This one week camp costs $200 per student. Full & partial scholarships are available in limited quantities.

This production of “Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun” is being directed by TITG President and Hillsboro High School Drama teacher Zoe Centers.
Campers will hone their acting, singing, and dancing skills, all while preparing for an incredible production of “Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun.”
Should my child attend?
If your child has an interest (or love) of things related to live theatre, then YES, these camps are perfect for them.
They need not have previous theatre/acting experience.
Ages: Just finished 5th grade and going into 6th up through those that just graduated from high school.

Q: My family can’t afford this camp. Are scholarships available?
A: Yes! Details will be announced soon.
Q: Can my child attend both the Performance Camp and the Tech Camp?
A. Yes. However, each camp has its own camp fee and a scholarship awarded for one may not necessarily be awarded to the other.
Q: My child doesn’t have any theater/acting/singing/dancing experience. Are they able to attend?
A: Yes! This camp is about learning, so we expect that some of our campers will be completely new to this.
Q: My child is has not finished 5th grade yet. Does that mean they cannot attend?
A: Unfortunately, yes. Only children who have finished 5th grade and up to those that have just graduated from high school can attend.
Q: We have a vacation scheduled during part of the camp. Can my child still attend?
A: Unfortunately, no. This is an intensive 2 week camp and requires ever camper present every day as well as for the performances.
Q: My child is only interested in lights/sound/set construction aspects of theatre. Which camp is for them?
A: If your child isn’t interested in acting/performing, then the Tech Camp is more appropriate for them.
Q: Is this camp safe for my child?
A: Theatre in the Grove runs background checks on all staff and volunteers, including those involved with the production. In addition, we have strict policies in place designed to protect our youth.
