Amanda Lyon is a professional flutist and music educator turned mental health therapist who uses expressive arts to bring joy and mindfulness to her life and the lives of her students and clients. Lovingly referred to as “Ms. Rawr” by her younger students, she takes a fun yet firm approach that incorporates social-emotional learning and growth mindset into musical and arts learning. In therapy, she reverses the process, bringing intentional creativity and whimsy into the healing process to guide clients toward reclaiming their joy. She holds two masters degrees from University of Iowa and New York University, and is a proud triple negative breast cancer thriver.
